Cut straight external threads on 3/8" round bar stock. This simple exterior threading alignment tool is a die starter for 3/8" round bar stock.
The purpose of this tool is to squarely guide your 1.5" round die onto the 3/8" rod you are cutting new exterior threads on. This eliminates any chance of crooked threading so you thread with ease the first time. It is recommended that you place your round stock in a vice for easier threading. Long smooth steel handles provide plenty of torque to make exterior threading a breeze.
NOTE: Die and 3/8" round bar stock NOT included. Holds 1.5" round dies; this tool only fits 3/8" round bar stock. If you need a different size, please send a message to seller.
The entire guide tool is 3.5" long. The guide shank portion is ~2" long, and is slightly over 3/8" (as it is not uncommon to see bar stock vary slightly in size).
This high quality machined tool is made from carbon steel and aluminum. Set screws securely hold your round die in place. Handles are threaded and can be easily and quickly removed for storage, if desired.
NOTE: Die and 3/8" round bar stock NOT included. It is always good practice to use a threading fluid or oil while cutting threads.
